Honoring Revolutionary War Soldiers
24 May, 11:00 a.m., Baker Burying Ground, NYS Rt. 3, West Plattsburgh, NY
American Legion Post 1619, the Clinton County American Legion, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will proudly honor the Revolutionary War Soldiers in the Baker Cemetery. The Legion will be posting colors with a rifle salute and taps. Legion members will be in Honor Guard Uniforms and Revolutionary War Uniforms and there will be a display of flags of that period.
The Saranac Chapter, NSDAR, will be rededicating four original markers and one replacement plaque at the gravesites of five Revolutionary War veterans. These markers were originally placed by the DAR on 11 October 1923.
Assemblyman Jones, Senator Stec and Town of Plattsburgh Supervisor Michael Cashman have been invited to share a few words of respect.
There will be light refreshments provided by the DAR. The event is free and open to the public.
