The Honor of Your Presence Exhibit Opens at CCHA with July 24 Kickoff Event

Plattsburgh, NY — July 16, 2025 — The Clinton County Historical Association (CCHA) invites the public to a special opening celebration of The Honor of Your Presence, a stunning new bridal exhibit launching on Thursday, July 24 at 5:30 PM at the CCHA Museum, located at 98 Ohio Avenue in Plattsburgh.

This beautifully curated exhibit features over a century of wedding traditions through gowns, accessories, and heirloom items contributed by local families. Each piece tells a unique love story and offers a glimpse into the changing styles and cultural moments that have shaped North Country weddings over time.

Guests at the July 24 event will enjoy a ribbon-cutting ceremony, light refreshments, and the opportunity to meet the designers and curators behind the scenes. The exhibit includes interactive elements and vintage photo backdrops, making it a memorable experience for all ages.

“We are thrilled to open our doors to the community for this extraordinary exhibit,” said Helen Nerska, Director of the Clinton County Historical Association. “This collection not only showcases the beauty of bridal fashion, but also reflects the personal histories of families in our region. It’s an opportunity to connect with our past in a deeply meaningful way.”

“Each gown tells a story—not just about the bride, but about the time and place in which she lived,” added Randi Christodoulou, Lead Exhibit Designer and CCHA Board Member. “Our goal was to create a space where guests could feel transported—through fabric, tradition, and love.”

Admission to the opening night is free. The exhibit will remain on display through summer 2026, with seasonal programming, guided tours, and even photo rental options for engaged couples or newlyweds.
