- Housed in a new building located adjacent to the Lyon Mountain D&H Station is the Switcher train
engine donated by the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum. To the delight of all, visitors will be able to access the engine’s cab to activate its bells, whistles and horn. - Located in the D&H Railroad Room, a new diorama has been constructed by museum volunteers featuring a H/O scale electric train. The scene includes a mountain, a village, tunnels and bridges for the little train to run around, through and over. The train can be activated by a push of a button and can be easily viewed by a child. Overhead is a G scale electric train that may also be activated by a button.

Mountain families who came to work in the mines from many parts of the world to escape war and oppression; looking for a better life. - Open June-September: Wednesday & Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

- Sunday, 19 June, the Colors of Freedom in the Adirondack Tour starting from the North Star
Underground Railroad Museum. A first-ever North Country Juneteenth celebration of the region’s role in the fight against slavery will highlight the Underground Railroad work in the area, as well as famous abolitionist John Brown. Juneteenth is now a national holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. The “Colors of Freedom” tour will be a unique way for families and visitors alike to experience the struggle that took place in this area. The tour will feature seven different stops with re-enactors, docents, and celebrations of the freedom spirit in the Clinton and Essex counties. Sponsored by the North Star Underground Railroad Museum, John Brown Lives, the John Brown State Historic Site and the Adirondack Museum, this event builds on existing museums, exhibits at historic locations, and original re-enactments. The tour will start at 9:00 at the North Star UGR Museum, move to Elizabethtown and end at the John Brown Farm. - A film on Finding Timbuctoo, directed by Paul Miller will be shown on Saturday evening to kick off the event.
- Docents will be available both days at the museum to answer questions and give tours
- Open 7 days a week mid-May - mid-Oct, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; July and August, open 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

- The Chapel was dedicated on October 24, 1933. Built in memory of those stationed at the Plattsburgh
Barracks Army Post who gave their lives in World War I - Project was sponsored by the Church Women’s League for Patriotic Service costing $22,472
- Constructed of weathered brick from a historical structure near Plattsburgh
- Chandeliers were made by the post blacksmith
- Pews and original organ were donated by the 26th Infantry
- Bell was installed in1936 and came from the Work War I ship the USS O’Brien
